Carrier oils (Fatty oils) are not moisturizers exactly. They do, however, play an important role in moisturizing and hydrating the skin. Applied after a spritz of hydrosol or combined with essential oils they create a barrier helping the nutrients to sink in.

Using a carrier oil can help improve softness, elasticity, and even natural sebum production.

Many also contain antioxidants and crucial vitamins combatting free radicals that can cause untimely wrinkles, lines, and scaliness.

Baobab Oil

  • Abundant in Omega 3,6, and 9.
  • Boosts Collagen production
  • Palmitic (saturated), oleic and linoleic acids (unsaturated).
  • All skin and hair types

Skincare : Mature skin or very dry skin. Apply before lotion after shower for a night routine.

Haircare : Split ends or dry, brittle hair. (add to shampoo or massage oil into wet hair and let stand 5 minutes before using a light shampoo to remove any residue)

White Camellia Oil

  • Superb nail strengthener
  • Anti-scarring treatments
  • High levels of antioxidants to prevent free radical formation
  • Especially shines when used for oily, combination, and acne prone skin

SKIN CLEANSING : Camellia Oil is a wonderful cleanser for all skin types. It softens and prevents skin dehydration, while removing makeup and impurities from deep in the pores. The acid balance of your skin will not be disturbed, and a soft barrier of Camellia will be left to protect and hold in moisture.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil

Barbary Fig / Cactus Seed Oil

  • Mature, dry skin
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Red, inflamed skin
  • Dry scalp/hair

One of the highest natural sources of tocopherols VITAMIN E

Very high in fatty acids (linoleic, oleic, palmitic)

St. John’s Wort infused in Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • Used for topical applications intended for pain relief
  • Neuralgia, sciatica, and muscular rheumatism
  • Anti-inflammatory

A recent study, published in the Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy found that St. John’s Wort infused oil as a carrier enhances both the analgesic and the anti-inflammatory effects of essential oils used with it.

Skincare : Alone St. John's Wort can be used to soothe irritated skin while helping to hold a calming relief barrier. Added to butters and lotions, it can add a healthy glow to skin while aiding in the absorption and retention of those extra components. With this in mind, be forewarned that if use undiluted St John's Wort over large areas of the body, it will turn your skin a little orange. Not many people going for that complexion, but if that's what you're into.... Rosehip Seed would be up your alley. (Know that Rosehip will ABSOLUTELY stain your skin orange if used neat, not just a nice glow. Amazing oil, but please dilute!)

Is there a carrier oil that we have been out of and you'd like us to bring it back? Just send us a little nudge and we may be able to work something out. We hope your Summer is filled with joy and cool breezes. Thank you for supporting Nature's Gift!
